These terms govern your use of TermOwl at termowl.com. By using the service you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Eligibility

You must be 18 or older to use TermOwl. By using the service you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.

Professional use

TermOwl is a tool for legal professionals: lawyers, in-house legal teams, and paralegals or legal staff working under the supervision of a qualified lawyer. Before running a review you confirm that a qualified professional will review the output before it is relied on or shared with a client or anyone else. TermOwl does not provide legal advice to consumers.

AI-generated output

TermOwl uses artificial intelligence (Claude, by Anthropic) to analyse documents and generate reports, suggested wording, emails and answers. All of this output is produced by an AI system.

Not legal advice

TermOwl provides AI-generated first-pass analysis to support a professional's own review. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not create an attorney-client relationship. AI output can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying all output before relying on it or sharing it.

Your content

• You keep all rights to documents you upload and to the reports generated for you.
• You confirm you have the right to share the documents you upload with us for analysis, including any confidentiality obligations you may have.
• We process your content only to provide the service, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Acceptable use

• Don't use the service for anything unlawful or to infringe others' rights.
• Don't attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse-engineer or bypass rate limits of the service.
• Don't use the service to build a competing dataset or product through automated access.

Beta service

The service is offered free of charge during the public beta, "as is" and "as available", with fair-use limits. Features may change. Paid plans will have separate terms presented before purchase.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, TermOwl is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for decisions you make based on the service's output. Our total liability for any claim relating to the free service is limited to USD 100.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
