Privacy Policy

TermOwl ("we", "us") helps you understand contracts using AI. Contracts are sensitive, so we designed the product to keep as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what we process and why.

Documents you upload

• When you request a review, your document is sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to our server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate the report. The report is streamed back to your browser.
• We do not store your documents, reports, negotiation emails or questions in a database or file storage.
• Follow-up questions and email drafts resend the relevant content from your browser; nothing is kept on our side between requests.
• Anthropic processes the content as our sub-processor. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, API inputs and outputs are not used to train its models. Anthropic may retain data for a limited period for trust and safety purposes in line with its own policies.

Information we collect

• Waitlist: if you join the waitlist, we store your email address and chosen plan to contact you about early access. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
• Technical data: our hosting provider (Vercel) processes IP addresses and request logs to run and secure the service. We use IP addresses in memory for rate limiting during the free beta.
• We do not use advertising trackers and we do not sell personal data.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your personal data. Email privacy@termowl.com and we'll respond within 30 days.

Changes

We'll update this page when our practices change, for example when we introduce accounts and saved review history, and we'll notify waitlist members of material changes.
